At Cornerstone, we continuously work to reduce our environmental footprint and promote sustainability at our facility and in our community. Cornerstone's environmental protection program works to provide a clean and safe working environment for our employees and our neighbors near the site. We work daily to reduce waste, conserve energy and minimize emissions to protect the community we reside in. As we commit to creating a more sustainable Louisiana, Cornerstone participates in community programs, such as the LSU Athletics Recycling Partnership and Community Clean-Up Days.
To promote STEM education in our community, Cornerstone presented the National World War II Museum with $15,000 for their STEM Innovation Studios. Employees volunteered in the STEM Innovation Studios by assisting children in making their own bubbles, bubble wand, chalk and slime.
Cornerstone sponsored sweatshirts for the students at Cherbonnier/Rillieux Elementary School, located in Waggaman. This school is one of Cornerstone's two adopted schools in Jefferson Parish.
Cornerstone partnered with GNO, Inc. to participate in the inaugural HBCU STEM Connect Summer Internship Program. This program creates paid internship experiences for junior and senior STEM majors at Dillard University, Southern University at New Orleans and Xavier University of Louisiana. Cornerstone welcomed four interns this summer: Mauricka McKenzie, Emanuela Riglioni, Asiah Donahue and Kyra McWorter.
Cornerstone donated notebooks, binders, colored pencils, pens and more to students at Cherbonnier/Rillieux Elementary School. Cornerstone is committed to supporting the education of our future workforce in the Greater New Orleans region.
Cornerstone continues its mission of providing STEM education to our local youth by donating funds to the robotics teams at Benjamin Franklin High School and Parkview Baptist High School.
Cornerstone employees attended the Waggaman Community Foundation's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Cornerstone donated goodie bags, Easter crafts and water to those in attendance.
Cornerstone participated in the Keep Louisiana Beautiful ‘Love the Boot’ Week by hosting a Community Clean-Up Day. Volunteers included Cornerstone employees and community members who picked up trash in ditches and on the levee near Cornerstone Energy Park in both the Waggaman and Ama communities. Volunteers were treated to a jambalaya lunch after the clean-up. Thanks to all who help keep our community clean.
Cornerstone employees volunteered at the Cornerstone STEM Rally in partnership with the New Orleans Saints. Volunteers assisted students with football activities and explained how STEM is used in everything we do, even football. Cornerstone entered into a three-year partnership with the Saints to sponsor future STEM and Reading Rallies for local students.
Cornerstone launched its partnership with LSU Athletics this spring by promoting sustainability efforts with the LSU Baseball team. Cornerstone held table sits to distribute sustainable products and information on promoting sustainability in Louisiana. Join us this fall as Cornerstone continues its table sits and kicks off its recycling initiative with LSU Football!
This year, Cornerstone was the Official Military Sponsor of the Zurich Classic. Cornerstone sponsored free tickets for active-duty military personnel and veterans to the tournament, the Callaway Wounded Warrior Club Fitting for two military veterans wounded in service and the Military Caddie Program to introduce military personnel to PGA TOUR Professionals.
Cornerstone hosted a Raise Your Flag competition to see which university's fans could raise the most money to fly their flag at Cornerstone Energy Park for one year. Through this competition, our employees raised $2,025 for United Way! This year's winner was Nicholls State University.
Cornerstone employees volunteered with United Way of Southeast Louisiana's Young Leaders United to create supply kits and cards of appreciation for teachers at Mildred Harris Elementary School, located in Bridge City.

Those registered for alerts will receive a notification from the system should any on-site event occur that potentially impacts people outside the Cornerstone fence line. Those who have registered to receive alerts will be quickly notified via the Cornerstone Safety Notification System, along with the appropriate government authorities.
The Cornerstone Safety Notification System will be tested four times a year on a quarterly basis.
