At Cornerstone Chemical Company, we’re focused on sustainability and modernization across our business — from our operations to our products. Alongside our site partners, we make in-demand products that increase the longevity of everyday goods like cars, aircraft, pharmaceuticals, lumber, furniture and clothing. In creating these products, we’re aiming to reduce our environmental footprint while prioritizing the health and safety of our employees and community.
For us, sustainability means the ability to continuously modernize our equipment and existing processes to make sure we are recycling and reusing our products and waste streams to make them even safer, cleaner and greener.
In 2021, we began a process to enhance site sustainability efforts. Under the guidance of global sustainability consultancy GHD, we undertook a materiality assessment to identify and prioritize environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics relevant to our business and our community.
Using the latest industry standards as a guide, we conducted structured engagement sessions with our stakeholders, including regulators, employees, customers, community groups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to listen and understand what they considered most important.
From those listening sessions, we are developing a strategy around the material topics and priority issues to inform risk management practices, sustainability program design and performance management. We seek a balanced approach that minimizes risk, engages our community, protects our environment and creates long-term value for our stakeholders. We are focused on:

We’re working to continuously modernize our equipment and existing processes to ensure we are recycling and reusing our products and workstreams to make them even safer, cleaner and greener. As part of this effort, we are minimizing waste generation, maximizing product utilization and recycling responsibly.
We're committed to managing emissions and improving air quality with a focus on mitigating potential impacts on the communities we serve.
We’re working to decrease our energy consumption and lower emissions. As an industrial chemical manufacturer, Cornerstone Chemical Company is subject to a number of regulatory requirements for energy consumption and greenhouse gases (GHGs). These are regulations we constantly strive to meet and outperform.
We’re also implementing infrastructure upgrades designed to reimagine site and decarbonization processes. These planned improvements will modernize Cornerstone Energy Park and result in significantly reduced carbon emissions compared to existing systems and equipment. In realizing these upgrades and modernization efforts, Cornerstone Energy Park will be well-positioned to serve as a market leader in chemical manufacturing and a preferred co-locating option for producers who share our values of safe, environmentally sustainable operations.
