Cornerstone provided a traditional Thanksgiving lunch to the faculty and staff at Cherbonnier/Rillieux Elementary in Waggaman to give thanks and appreciation for their hard work throughout the year.

Cornerstone sponsored United Way of Southeast Louisiana's (UWSELA) Young Leaders United (YLU) Game-Changer Series luncheon with New Orleans Saints Linebacker Demario Davis. Young professionals gathered to network and listen to Davis share his experience fighting for change as a social justice advocate and United Way ambassador. Cornerstone is proud to be the presenting sponsor for all YLU programming that focuses on engaging young professionals in UWSELA's work to eradicate poverty and building socially conscious leaders who fight for change through advocacy, volunteerism and giving.

Cornerstone was a proud supporter of Waggaman's Annual National Night Out Against Crime. Cornerstone employees cooked the jambalaya to feed everyone who came out that night. Employees were also present to sign up community members for the Cornerstone Safety Notification System. All attendees who visited the Cornerstone table received Cornerstone-branded safety reflectors and reflective safety snap bracelets.

Cornerstone kicked off its 2019-2020 United Way Campaign by hosting a carnival fun day for its employees. All employees were invited to come out and complete their pledge cards while enjoying free popcorn and snowballs. Employees also had the opportunity to dunk their favorite co-workers at the dunking booth. The dunking booth raised approximately $1,500 for the campaign.

At United Way of St. Charles' (UWSC) 2019 Battle for the Paddle, UWSC recognized its 'Pacesetter' companies that began their United Way fundraising efforts before the official kickoff to help generate momentum for the campaign.

Cornerstone is pleased to announce Todd Dina has joined the Cornerstone team in the role of Vice President, Category - Propylene and Business Development. Todd received his bachelor's degree of science in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He joins Cornerstone with more than 32 years of experience in chemical manufacturing with many industry leaders. In Todd's most recent leadership role, he was the Director of Olefins at IHS Markit in Houston, Texas, where he focused primarily on olefins and the analysis of the propylene and propylene derivatives markets for clients of IHS Markit.

Cornerstone raised $3,043 for United Way at its first onsite jambalaya cook-off. Nine teams put their cooking skills to the test for their chance to represent Cornerstone at United Way of St. Charles' 2019 Battle for the Paddle. All employees were invited to enjoy all-you-can-eat jambalaya and vote for their favorite cooking team.
