Cornerstone's COO, Tom Yura, participated in the Region 1 Fast Forward Program kick-off meeting hosted by the Louisiana Board of Regents and Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. The meeting discussion was about building career paths for our future workforce through a new program called the 'Fast Forward Program'. This program will allow students to complete high school with college credit beginning with the freshmen class of 2025.

Cornerstone's Wellness Program sponsored a 'Heart Health Fundraiser' on-site that raised $500 for the American Heart Association. Cornerstone employees participated in the fundraiser by walking or running one mile. Employees also had the option to walk at home and virtually track their distance. This fundraiser is helping the American Heart Association fight heart disease and stroke and raise awareness to help people achieve a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Waggaman, Louisiana, March 2, 2021 - Cornerstone Chemical Company today announced a price increase for Melamine. Effective April 1, 2021, or as contracts allow, Melamine prices will increase by $0.20/lb. ($440.92/MT).

Cornerstone volunteers participated in the United Way of Southeast Louisiana's 'SIP & STEM' event to create Morse code bracelets that will be donated to Mildred Harris Elementary School for students to decode and keep. The bracelets will help students learn critical thinking and reasoning skills in a fun way.

Cornerstone held the first Community Advisory Panel (CAP) meeting of 2021 for our local community leaders. Our CAP members received dinner delivered to their homes by Cornerstone representatives. Cornerstone appreciates the valuable feedback that is given to us by our CAP members, and we look forward to another great year with this group.

Cornerstone's United Way Committee hosted a 'Raise Your Flag' competition and raised a total of $4,270 for United Way. The winning flag was the University of Southern Mississippi with a total of $2,520 raised. Cornerstone kicked off the new year by raising the winning flag that will be flown on-site for one whole year.
