Cornerstone, on behalf of Dyno Nobel, responds to air permit submission for new boiler project
Waggaman, La. — Jan. 19, 2023 — Cornerstone site partner Dyno Nobel Louisiana Ammonia, LLC recently submitted state permitting materials in support of new operational equipment. Dyno Nobel’s plans for this equipment - a new boiler unit - are consistent with Cornerstone’s company and site focus on sustainability and our mission to help make site technologies better, processes cleaner and practices even safer. The boiler will use the latest technology to ensure the lowest emissions possible.
Dyno Nobel's new boiler unit represents a $26M local investment and will create three additional permanent jobs and many more local construction jobs. The new boiler will provide essential steam capabilities to improve the reliability of the ammonia plant. A more reliable ammonia plant results in less noise, less flaring and lower emissions. This new boiler project does not increase facility capacity, rather reduces environmental footprint and enhances plant reliability and safety.
At Cornerstone, we continue to look at the chemistry we have onsite today and build in strategic improvements for a sustainable future. Continuous site investment and improvement creates new jobs, maintains existing jobs, and enhances the safety of equipment, product lines and services. Our goal is to build on existing partnerships with companies like Dyno Nobel whose processes fit with and build upon resources already in place at Cornerstone Energy Park. This contributes to a site that invests locally, is more efficient, decreases waste, strategically reuses materials and continues to reduce our overall environmental footprint.
